Precursor (Glossary of Printed Electronic terms)

In the context of printed electronics, a chemical that can be turned into a desired chemical after processing because the desired chemical cannot be processed directly using that equipment. An example is pentacene semiconductors which trditionally cannot be printed but IBM has developed pentacene precursor that can.
