Speaker Biography
As Director of Enforcement, David Statham has responsibility for local authority food enforcement, meat policy and enforcement, Imported Food Controls, TSEs and the Implementation of the New Food Hygiene legislation. Before leaving to join the Agency in 2000, David held the post of Assistant Director Environmental Management and Protection at Leicester City Council. David is a Chartered Environmental Health Practitioner and a past Chairman of the Council of the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health. He is also Chairman of the European Food Law Enforcement Practitioners Forum. Company Profile
The Food Standards Agency is an independent Government department set up by an Act of Parliament in 2000 to protect the public's health and consumer interests in relation to food. The FSA provides advice and information to the public and Government on food safety from farm to fork, nutrition and diet. It also protects consumers through effective food enforcement and monitoring. |
