Speaker Biography

Andreas Schweitzer is part of a new investor group in MBBS Ltd, a Swiss based RFID technology and consulting company with distinct IP for read-through-metal RFID applications.
Andreas is the Founder and Vice Chairman of borawind ag, www.borawind.com investing in disruptive wind turbine technology (hydrostatic transmission system, replacing mechanical gearboxes). Over the last decade, Andreas created or helped to create and fund various ventures in the Convenience Food, Leisure & Hospitality industry. From 1990 to 1994, Andreas was a Partner at Kenk & Schweitzer Associates in
Zurich, running a market timing fund.
From 1984 to 1990, he held various management positions at Jacobs Suchard & Co (now known as Kraft Foods Schweiz AG), including Managing Director of the Finance Division in Panama and Member of the Board of Management of their French bank.
Andreas started his business career with Sarasin in Basel and London, a Swiss Private Bank. Andreas received a Business Diploma from the Ecole Supérieure de Commerce de Neuchâtel, a degree in Portfolio Management of the London School of Economics and did post-graduate studies at IMD Business School in Lausanne.
Over the last 10 years Andreas served repeatedly on the European Board of the Young Presidents' Organisation (YPO) as well as on YPO's International Networking and Forum Committees. He currently chairs YPO's renewable energy network. Further he serves on the Standards Committee of the Global Footprint Network, www.globalfootprint.org a non-profit organization with the vision is to make the Ecological Footprint as prominent a metric as the Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Andreas lives in Geneva, Switzerland, and enjoys Nature as well as yoga, sailing and
snowboarding.
