Speaker Biography

President & CEO of ISET, has 35 years of experience in photovoltaics covering R&D, manufacturing and sales. He worked as the director of applied research at Arco Solar for more than five years. At Arco Solar, Dr. Kapur worked on various aspects of PV technology including thin film solar cells, silicon solar cells, PV system design and batteries for energy storage in PV systems. Prior to joining Arco Solar, Dr. Kapur worked at Stanford Research Institute (SRI International) for three years on projects related to low cost photovoltaics.
He received his Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia and an M.B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). He holds nine (9) patents and has published more than fifty (50) papers relating to PV technology. He co-founded ISET in 1985 and has served as its president since that time. His current efforts are focused on commercializing low cost, ink-based printable manufacturing technology for CIGS solar modules.
