It now boasts a team of engineers with many decades of experience in communications algorithms, wireless communication, marketing, digital and analog semiconductor design and standards processes. The initial goal of the company is to produce a complete, single chip CMOS ultra wideband IC. This will implement the IEEE 802.15.4a spec and work at rates 110kbps, 850kbps, 6.8Mbps and 27Mbps.
The decaWave engineering team have been producing communications IC's for many years and have been working on ultra wideband since early 2002. One of the founders, Michael Mc Laughlin was the driving force behind the ParthusCeva ( now Ceva Inc.) contributions to the IEEE Ultra Wideband PHY proposal. The ParthusCeva role in the standardisation has since been taken over by decaWave.
